I wonder if the writer is seeking an ideal, or resigned to the type of women he attracts.
Concerning the latter, I have thought of posting an ad along these lines:
“Are you demanding and never satisfied? Do you require constant attention and reassurance, for fear of doubting that anyone truly cares about you? Do you cry and throw tantrums when things don’t go your way?
If so, you may as well drop me a line. We’re probably going to date eventually anyway.”
